Tarleton sits on the north bank of the Ribble, about 12 minutes from the Southport workshop. It's a mix of modern detached properties, farmhouses, and newer-build estates - a steadily growing village with a lot of families moving into the area. Regular customer for garden rooms, fitted wardrobes, and full internal-door refits.
Tarleton's mix of old and new
The village centre has some lovely older properties - period farmhouses, a handful of Victorian terraces, and cottages scattered through the lanes. But the growth over the last 20 years has been in newer detached housing, typically 4-5 bedroom family homes on well-planned estates. That means my Tarleton enquiries span both ends of the spectrum: period restoration in the older properties, and full fit-outs (wardrobes, garden studios, oak internal doors) in the newer ones.
Garden rooms and outdoor studios - a Tarleton trend
One thing I've noticed consistently across Tarleton clients is a strong interest in oak-framed garden rooms and home-office studios - partly driven by hybrid working, partly by the generous garden sizes of the newer properties. A properly built timber-framed studio with insulation, electrics, and full cladding typically costs £12,000-£25,000 depending on size and spec, and adds serious value for home-based professionals.
Working alongside other trades in Tarleton
For larger Tarleton projects (garden rooms, barn conversions, full-house internal door refits) I often work alongside a regular plumber, electrician and plasterer - most of whom know Tarleton well and can work a flexible schedule around each other. If you need a one-stop project-managed job, I can coordinate the full trade team and invoice as a single package, or you can bring in your own trades and I'll just handle the joinery.
